Well Pakistani ethnic designs be it dresses and shoes have always been replicated by fashion designers in the West. The recent example is of Christian Louboutin’s ‘Imran’s Sandals’ where the French Fashion designer has replicated Pakistani traditional Peshawari Chapal and reintroduced them to the world of modern fashion as Imran’s sandals. The pictures of the Imran Sandals are surfacing on social media which is a fancier take on our local Peshawari Chapals and features Louboutin’s classic spikes and red soles. Well one wonder is the name of the footwear is named after PM Imran khan or is it the designer’s closest friend Imran Qureshi.
