Sabri Sahab collaborated with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan for this kalaam and it is SENSATIONAL! We got tears and goose bumps just after a minute of listening to it! What’s more? This soulful and melodramatic kalaam was earlier performed by the epic maestros Ghulam Farid Sabri and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan almost 4 decades ago!! The shrines ricocheted with the otherworldly kalaam, Rang, of Amir Khusro.
This was performed in a beautifully entrancing manner where the song started with Rahat’s vocals and a momentary key change introduced the music to our ears; Amjad Sabri’s raspy and soulful voice! The song brought together the past and present in a wonderful cascade of vocals in a classic traditional essence!
Way to go Coke Studio, not only do they know how to make an enrance they also exit with a BANG!
