Although it seems like the political tension between both the states have tamed down just a teeny tiny bit, it’s not theΒ case! We might be happily sharing the trailers of Raees and discuss how perfect Mahira fits with Shahrukh, It won’t be played in our Cinemas, and that’s enough to put us down for a week!
The ban on Indian Movies has put the cinemas in so much strain, they’re suffering from lack of content, the cinema’s that had only recently taken a new hype are empty now.Β The once bustling food courts and malls, that were just crowded for this much awaited releases have been deserted and people have started to find other sources of entertainment. The sad sad truth is that these Cinemas are now laying off hundreds of employees and many are preparing to shut down completely.
WhileΒ many of them have come up with schemes like student packages and weekend packages to get some business , even the nation was a huge fan of Bollywood and its taking them a while to adjust to other movies.Β We do hope the ban gets lifted soon, for our sake and these businesses, no matter what people say, Indian movies do have a huge stake in Pakistan! Is it the end? Are we going back to where we started? What of all the development and growth of Pakistani film Industry? Is it not enough to save this sinking ship?
