Well finally finally the much awaited film The Legend of Maula Jatt’s trailer is out and it is making waves! Yes undoubtedly the trailer has been very engaging and it has made the audiences anxious for the film release. The glimpses of Fawad Khan and Hamza Ali Abbasi has given us an impact of larger than life kinda characters. The background Punjabi commentary is just spot on.
Well apart from the amazing performances, larger than life appearances of Fawad Khan and Hamza Ali Abbasi, and that well versed Punjabi commentary, the trailer seems likes a faint copy of Games of Thrones or at least I have that kind of feeling. Yes being a Punjabi myself I can sense that the Punjabi feel is missing from the trailer. It seems like the film is not set in Punjab, it has a foreign feel as if the film is set in some foreign land.
Plus the looks and attires of both the hero and anti- hero does not have a Punjabi feel, particularly Hamza Ali Abbasi looks like a Japanese Samurai. The breads, costumes, the way they are carrying their so called lachas are not depicting the true color of Punjab so are the heroines. Yes I love Mahira Khan but she is not like Punjabi Beauties. Punjabi damsels are mostly voluptuous not skinny. So it seems like Mahira and Humaima may not be the right choices.
Well still the trailer is interesting and we are looking forward to watch our very own Fawad Khan and Hamza Ali Abbasi as rivals Maula Jatt vs Noori Nath. The film is expected to release on Eid ul Fitar 2019.
