Today in Islamabad i.e 4th September 2018, presidential elections took place.Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Arif Alvi who also won MNA seat twice, has been elected as the 13th President of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Election Commission of Pakistan has officially announced the results of Presidential elections at around 5pm.According to the results Dr Arif Alvi got 353 electoral votes, Molana Fazlur Rehman 185 and Aitzaz Ahsan 124 votes. According to the results of both National Assembly and Senate, Arif Alvi got 211 votes, Molana Fazul Rehman 131 and Aitzaz Ahsan 81 votes. A total of 424 votes were balloted of which six votes were rejected. So yes Dr Arif Alvi is our new President!
