On this International Women’s day, Shoaib Mansoor dedicates a new beautiful song, “Dua e Reem” which speaks volumes about gender equality particularly it portrays the beautiful relationship of husband and wife. Shoaib Mansoor always raises issues relating women rights and empowerment. The song ‘Dua-e-Reem’ is a unique take on Allama Iqbal’s’ famous poem ‘Lab Pe Ati Hai Dua”. The verses of the original poem have been tweaked, in a prayer for the bride to be (played by Mahira Khan) during a sangeet ceremony sung by the ladies where they are praying to give bride’s strength to endure husband’s brutality on which bride do not approve but makes herself a prayer of having a very loving marital relationship. Directed by Shoaib Mansoor, this song is sung by Damia Farooq. Dua-e-Reem is a prayer to all women, an anthem celebrating womanhood and gender equality.
