Short film ‘Rani’ starring Kami Kid which revolves around a transgender who refuses to indulge in socially unacceptable activities to earn her livelihood is making waves,The film won a European award as well as numerous accolades in various film festivals, the film premiered in Pakistan and also got featured on BBC World News and became part of a special showcase of films at the short film corner of the Cannes Film Festival as well as be part of the Transtastic section of Frameline 43, San Francisco where it will be premiered at the LGBTQ+ Film Festival On June 24. Recently the director of the Hammad Farooqi through his Instagram shared the news that the short film has also received a Bronze Remi Award from the Houston International Film Festival.
