After proving himself well in dramas, films and Live Ramadan Transmissions, Ahsan khan is gearing up for his theatrical performance in an upcoming London based Pakistani musical titled ‘Ishq’ where he will groove as Ranjha. Ishq will be a Sufi musical play based on the folktale of Heer Ranjha.The play will be in English but will have some Punjabi songs.The play is being directed by Dr. Farooq Beg and the script is written by Mushfiq Murshed, and it will be staged at the prestigious Sadler’s Wells Theatre in London from 7th to 9th of September 2017.
“The team saw my acting in Udaari and wanted me to take up the role. They even auditioned 100 people but still wanted me.” said Ahsan.
Ahsan further revealed about his project in a daily “The play hopes to celebrate 70 years of Pakistan and spread the message of love and peace. The Heer/Ranjha romance was one that stirred a revolution in an uncoventional way and that’s what the adaption of te story will show, combining classical and modern dance with a unique blend of poetry and fusion music”
