Before partition in 1947, famous Bollywood Kapoor clan used to reside in the city of Peshawar, later after partition they had to move out. The Kapoor’s ancestral home, was located in the Qissa Khawani Bazar in Peshawar and it is now being turned into a museum! Well according to Economic Times, it was reported that the request was made by Rishi Kapoor himself and our government accordingly decided to grant his wish as Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi told a group of visiting Indian journalists,
“There was a call from Rishi Kapoor. He requested that his family’s home in Peshawar should be made into a museum or some sort of institution. We have accepted his request.”
Shehryar Khan Afridi, the Interior Minister has also mentioned in his tweet that Rishi Kapoor had telephoned him to preserve his family’s house in Peshawar and they were responding positively to his request.”He had called me and talked about making his ancestral home into a museum. Now the federal and provincial governments are working on this and it will transform the house into a museum soon,” said Shehryar Khan Afridi.
