After Pulwana attack and recent tension between the countries, tensions are rising within India , particularly between Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) and the Bengal state unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). These two groups are currently involving in dispute over a picture of Pakistan’s prime minister Imran Khan at Eden gardens cricket stadium in Kolkata, capital of the West Bengal state. Extremist Hindu groups, led by the ruling BJP, are demanding to remove Imran Khan’s picture from the clubhouse at the pre-partition cricket stadium. Well to our surprise the the president Saurav Ganguly the president of CAB and former Indian captain refuses to remove Imran Khan picture from the Eden Gardens. He stated, “Whatever reactions came from the people of India… (are) right. There is no chance of a bilateral series with Pakistan after this incident.”
As Indian captain, Sourav Ganguly rarely backed down. And he seems still not to do so, refusing the BJP demand to remove Imran Khan’s portrait from Eden Gardens: https://t.co/LMpbXvc8SS
