For those of you who didn’t get the chance to see the play in the theatres or missed the chance to witness the satire of the situation at Siachen glacier, there is some good news. Kopykats Productions has announced that Siachen is going to debut on the big screen with Dawar Mehmood as director and screenwriting by Anwar Maqsood, and by looking at the success of the theatrical play we can be assured that it’s big screen counterpart is going to be another triumph.
Ever since Kashif lost his legs in Alpha Bravo Charlie, Siachen didn’t really came on screen again up until last year with Anwar Maqsood’s theater play “Siachen”, delineating the bone-chilling struggle of Pakistani soldiers, who left their loved ones to protect their homeland on the world’s highest battleground in subzero temperatures.
With Anwar Maqsood on the writer’s chair, Dawar Mehmood on director’s, and with dedication of such level that the whole cast was under house arrest for four months and cut off from the outside world just so that they can bond together as if they were on the Siachen glacier, SIachen was bound to surpass its audience’s expectations, not only that, they also spent some time at the glacier to immerse them in the that environment and let them feel what kind of struggle our soldiers went though so that we can sleep in peace.
